- Diocese of Waterford and Lismore, 26th August 2009. In response to a defection request, the Diocese sent this letter suggesting a meeting. The individual responded with this email explaining their reasons for not attending the meeting. Finally, on the 7th October, this letter of confirmation was received;

In response to questions we posed on the Church’s involvement in the education system in Ireland, we received the following letter from Minister for Education Batt O’Keeffe, on the 21st October 2009.

The following email is an exchange between a CMO user and his diocese, requesting a defection by email. Although successful in this instance, this is typically not standard practice for a diocese who usually require a signed letter and, in some cases, a meeting.
